VHHS Goes to Uganda!

For two weeks this summer a group from VHHS, including Principal Ellen Cwick, staff members Ross Caton and Rachel Blanton, VHHS alumni Steven Sprieser, and senior Kate Lee, traveled to Kapeeka, Uganda.  The group met and stayed with the students and community that is benefitting from the primary school funded by the VHHS community in conjunction with COVE Alliance at their St. Jerome Primary School.  They brought with them donated clothing, reading books, school supplies, and sports equipment During the two weeks in Uganda, the group visited sponsored students from across the area as well as fellow school teachers and principals, while distributing the donated goods.  They also taught lessons, answered questions from students about the U.S., and helped organize a workshop for local farmers and entrepreneurs in conjunction with the University Of Illinois’ School Of Business at Urbana-Champaign.
