COUGAR-TV is a crew and club that is all-student operated for the purposes of producing videos and presenting the videos to the community. We tape VHHS events, sports, and specialized programs involving students, faculty, and the Vernon Hills Community. Students can join Cougar TV at any time throughout the school year. You will learn how to operate a video camera, create graphics, monitor audio, and edit in Final Cut Express.

TV COMMUNICATIONS: THE CLASS
6017, 6018 TELEVISION COMMUNICATIONS is a semester course, offered both semesters and open to grades 10 through 12. Prerequisite: None .
Television Communications teaches the basics of television production equipment and its use. Basics in production include television and video cameras, lighting, computer graphics, editing, directing and producing. Television Communications is an introduction to the field of television in general including broadcasting, advertising, editing, and producing. Film critiques and overviews will also be covered. Students may choose to extend their studies in this class by re-enrolling for grade and credit. Advanced students can be given projects to complete for VHHS use. These projects are legitimate experience in TV and can be used on a resume. Advanced students are also given more freedom to make an in-depth study of areas previously touched upon in the basic course.
